A discussion with Bernard E. Harcourt about his book Cooperation: A Political, Economic, and Social Theory (Columbia University Press, 2023), presented alongside Press & Pull: Two Decades at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
The program explored cooperation as a basis for economic and social life, from worker and consumer cooperatives to mutual aid and nonprofit organizations. These ideas connect with the history of Robert Blackburn’s workshop, which operated as an artist-run cooperative from 1953 to 1971 before becoming a nonprofit.
